1979: "Destruction is directly related to creation. A person destroys because he is not able to create. Creation gives us a sense of having done something worthwhile. Destruction does the opposite."

We are all basically the same, that's why we can read a story and relate to it -- if it is in our own language. We are all, however, slightly different -- that's what makes people interesting. If an author were different from the rest of us, we wouldn't be able to relate to their books. Other cultures are -- can be -- distinctly different. That's why some things 'lose something in translation'."
