Media of Mass Psychology

SOLO ART SHOW

LAERK SPACE NEWTOWN, November 2023

The Exhibition

This body of work investigates the psychology of mass media and the mechanics of representation. Drawing on the structure of newspapers and research archives, it uses headlines, stories, text and high impact imagery to examine how attention is captured and controlled. Here, persuasion replaces choice. Marketing, manipulation and hard sell tactics are exposed as tools that shape not just what is presented, but how it is received. Rather than leaving meaning open, the work directs thought, suggesting both the present moment and the next. The project reflects on the cumulative effect of emotionally charged imagery, innuendo and dramatic narrative in a culture driven by consumption and control.
